Tori Arca

Registered Physiotherapist

Tori completed her Masters of Physical Therapy after finishing  her degree in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. She began her career working at Surrey Memorial Hospital gaining experience on a variety of units including acute stroke, outpatients, high acuity, emergency, and general medicine. This experience allowed her to obtain a  more comprehensive understanding of the continuum of care as well as the challenges patients face at every stage of rehabilitation.

While working at the Chronic Pain Clinic at Jim Pattison Outpatient Center, Tori found her passion for neurological conditions and chronic pain. At this clinic she had opportunities to treat individuals who had Phantom Limb Pain, Complex  Regional Pain Syndrome, and Myofascial  Pain Syndrome. Through this experience she was able to combine Physiotherapy with Yoga based exercises to aid rehabilitation.

Combining her passion for travel, international health and Physiotherapy, Tori has recently returned from Uganda, Africa working with the Ugandan Sustainable Trauma and Orthopaedic Program through UBC. While in Uganda, Tori was responsible for setting up a trauma and amputee clinic in a rural community as well as training the rehabilitation workers at the site.

During this trip, Tori also had the opportunity to teach lectures on Chronic Pain to the Ugandan Physiotherapists.

Presently, Tori is working at Neuromotion and involved in a research study working with individuals who have had a mild to moderate traumatic brain injury. Tori has also furthered her education by completing courses in Vestibular Rehabilitation, and Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (Level 1).

Moving forward Tori plans to continue her education in Vestibular Rehabilitation, Chronic Pain, Concussion management and Neurological conditions to continually grow as a practitioner.

Outside of work Tori enjoys hiking, yoga, running and travelling.
