Catherine Chan

Registered Physiotherapist

After receiving her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of British Columbia, Catherine began working in different settings of rehabilitation prior to NeuroMotion. Her previous experience includes many units at Vancouver General Hospital, neurological and arthritis programs at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, and health promotion in the community. Professionally, she has furthered her passion for neurological rehabilitation with Bobath courses, vestibular training, and various medical lectures and conferences. Catherine is also keenly involved in research. Previously, she has studied body-weight supported treadmill training, older adults and falls, and the neural control of gait using the Lokomat®. Her current project with the Adolescent and Young Adult Program at GF Strong and UBC is a randomized controlled trial looking at active rehabilitation following sport-related concussion. As a result, Catherine combines her evolving clinical background with her passion for physical therapy in aspiration to optimize each individual’s full potential and function.

Outside of work, “Cat” is a true Vancouverite. She loves the outdoors, playing sports such as volleyball, and good food. She is always up for a challenge, a yoga-inspired dance move, and well, more food!
